Job Description

• Position: General Manager
• Property: Sheraton Mission Valley San Diego Hotel (260 Keys + 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space)
• Brand: Sheraton Hotels & Resorts (Marriott International) transitioning to Hyatt Regency in December 2026
• Work Type: On-Site
• Travel: Up to 15% travel for ownership meetings, leadership development, community engagement, brand initiatives, and market-related activities
• Job Type: Managerial, Full-Time, Permanent
• Salary: $160,000 - $170,000 USD annually (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and market alignment)
• Bonus: Up to 50% Quarterly incentive plan tied to performance metrics
• Leadership & Team Structure: This position reports to the Area General Manager & works closely with ownership representatives.
• Direct Reports: Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Rooms, Executive Chef, Director of Engineering, Director of Finance, Human Resources Leader, and other department leaders as applicable.
• Property Type: Full-Service Hotel featuring 260 guestrooms, approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space, restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, fitness center, and extensive guest amenities.

Position Summary: The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and day-to-day operations of the Sheraton Mission Valley San Diego Hotel, a 260-room full-service hotel currently operating under the Sheraton brand and scheduled to transition to Hyatt Regency in December 2026. The role provides strategic direction to all hotel departments, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong associate engagement, brand compliance, and achievement of revenue and profitability goals. The General Manager will oversee hotel operations, sales and marketing initiatives, food and beverage operations, meeting and event business, and overall financial performance while fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality leader with a proven track record of driving hotel performance, developing high‑performing teams, maximizing group and transient revenue, and delivering outstanding results in guest satisfaction, market share, and profitability. This individual will play a critical role in leading the hotel through a significant brand conversion to Hyatt Regency while maintaining operational excellence, strengthening market presence, and enhancing owner returns.

The General Manager is expected to meet all company standards and lead the 5 Key Drivers identified by the management company while ensuring operational excellence across the hotel's guestrooms, food and beverage outlets, and approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space .

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous General Manager experience in a full-service hotel environment, preferably with significant rooms, food & beverage, and group business operations.
• Hyatt Regency experience strongly preferred , with particular interest in candidates currently serving within Hyatt-managed full-service properties.
• Experience operating in the San Diego market or similar highly competitive urban hospitality markets.
• Proven success leading hotels with substantial group, catering, and meeting space revenue, preferably in properties with 10,000+ square feet of event space.
• Candidates currently serving as a Hotel Manager, Assistant General Manager, or other senior operations leader at a Hyatt Regency property with demonstrated readiness to step into a General Manager role are highly encouraged to apply.
