Commercial Credit Analyst

Our client, a long established credit union on the Connecticut shoreline, is seeking a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join its commercial lending team. This role is responsible for underwriting and reviewing commercial lending relationships, with a focus on larger and more complex credits. The position also plays an important role in portfolio reporting, risk management, and mentoring junior analysts. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Loan Officers to organize and track financial documentation throughout the underwriting process. Maintain quality credit files to support smooth audits and third party regulatory reviews. Evaluate the financial condition of complex commercial entities, with a focus on debt service, collateral support, and overall risk assessment for both Commercial and Industrial and Commercial Real Estate Loans. Validate that all loan requests align with established lending policy, documenting specific risks and recommending appropriate risk ratings. Interface directly with borrowers and accountants to clarify financial data and support underwriting requirements. Complete annual reviews for existing commercial borrowing relationships in accordance with loan policy parameters. Manage portfolio data for monthly and quarterly reporting and assist with external loan review processes. Mentor junior analysts by providing guidance and technical assistance. Identify efficiencies in underwriting workflows and develop tools to enhance portfolio management. Qualifications Knowledge of tax return analysis, financial statement analysis, and sound credit skills At least three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, loan software, and data center software. Experience with LoanVantage is desired. This is an 5 day on-site role in Essex, CT.
