Job Purpose Our Press Person will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the press and auxiliary equipment related to the press. This role will also direct the activities of the press crew with assigned tasks during down time and make-ready periods. Job Responsibilities Work under the plant manager to make sure all team members on press are properly and adequately trained to perform their essential functions in a safe, productive manner in accordance with all established safety guidelines. Make-ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided. Ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines. Verify that stock and inks match job specs on ticket. Ensure all crew members understand job details for their areas of responsibility. Read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications. Perform press make ready, folder set ups, maintain press register and color. Perform quality pull sheet procedures according to press SOP’s. Ensure samples are pulled and labeled according to press SOP. Follow all safety policies and regulations and report any potential hazards, near misses or accidents immediately. Perform routine maintenance on the press, making sure that that all equipment is properly maintained with the press team members as required. Coordinate work schedules in the department with other team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications Cooperate with other team members and managers to ensure the company values are executed while meeting our customer promises. Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed. Ability to work independently as well as with a crew/team. UV Experience is a plus Work Experience 5-10 years of related job experience. Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. Education High School Diploma/GED Preferred Working Conditions The work environment for this position requires: Regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur. Exposure to loud noise. Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles. Physical Requirements The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack. Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter. Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment. Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance. Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist. Kneeling - kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
