Description

• Assess patients in various settings, creating tailored treatment strategies to facilitate optimal recovery
• Deliver physical therapy interventions aimed at enhancing mobility, strength, balance, and overall function
• Work in partnership with nurses, physicians, case managers, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure effective outcomes
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic objectives, home exercise regimens, and discharge planning
• Keep detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment progress, and plans in adherence to facility standards and regulatory guidelines
• Engage in team rounds and multidisciplinary meetings for streamlined patient care

Education

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution

Certifications

• State licensure as a Physical Therapy Specialist
• CPR certification is preferred
• Additional certifications (e.g., neurological, geriatric) are advantageous but not mandatory

Skills

• A background in physical therapy is highly preferred
