Major Gifts Officer

$85k - $92k

Taylor Farms

Major Gift Officer

Role Type: Full Time
Location: Nashville, Seattle, or Dallas preferred. US Only.

Travel Requirement: Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

Reports to: Development Director

Atlas Free is on a mission to end sex trafficking and exploitation. Our work is urgent, relational, and built on trust. Major donors are among the most powerful forces in the fight for freedom. Strong relationships with them mobilize the resources required to dismantle trafficking and expand frontline solutions. We are looking for a gifted communicator and sharp storyteller who can clearly articulate Atlas Free's mission to people with the capacity to accelerate it. This person will not simply manage a portfolio. They will help expand the reach, reputation, and influence of Atlas Free among major donors and strategic partners.

At Atlas Free, fundraising is relational, connecting generosity directly to measurable impact. The Major Gifts Officer will manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity supporters while cultivating new relationships, turning meaningful engagement into multi-year financial investment in the mission. We are looking for someone who wants to do fundraising differently. Someone who believes strong relationships, compelling storytelling, and clear opportunities for impact drive generosity.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is not measured by activity. It is measured by the strength of partnerships built and the resources mobilized to advance the mission. Success looks like:
  • Major donors who are actively engaged in the mission and investing at meaningful levels
  • Conversations that clearly connect generosity to measurable impact
  • A growing portfolio of high-capacity donors who are committed to the work of Atlas Free
  • Clear progression from first connection to significant and multi-year commitments
  • New high-capacity donors entering the portfolio each year
  • Measurable revenue growth: $1M+ in year one, with a clear pathway developed with the Development Director to scale toward $2M annually by years two to three
  • Strong stewardship that increases retention and long-term giving
  • Disciplined systems and processes that make performance consistent and scalable
This role requires strategic focus, confidence in relationships, and a disciplined, data-informed approach to fundraising.

The Work You'll Lead

You will grow Atlas Free's impact by cultivating high-touch relationships with major donors and prospects, combining strategic thinking and personalized engagement to drive revenue and advance the mission to dismantle the sex trafficking business.
  • Manage and steward a portfolio of 50 existing major donors while identifying, qualifying, and cultivating 100 new high-capacity prospects
  • Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans
  • Initiate and sustain relationships through in-person meetings, events, calls, and personalized outreach, confidently presenting giving opportunities aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities
  • Collaborate with the Development Director on revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and progress toward financial targets
  • Create tailored proposals, briefings, and ask strategies that clearly communicate impact, partnering with the Capital Campaign Manager and Program Team to align funding with measurable outcomes
  • Lead high-touch donor stewardship at events and engagement points, ensuring donors feel valued, connected, and informed, while identifying new networking opportunities to expand access to high-capacity supporters
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records of donor interactions and strategies, track and evaluate performance metrics, and produce monthly and quarterly revenue reports on donor and prospect activity
  • Partner with the CRM Analyst and Development Director to identify new portfolio prospects and refine strategies for engagement, retention, and revenue growth using insights from donor research platforms
  • Perform other duties as assigned
The Context You're Stepping Into

Atlas Free is a lean, high-performing team built for impact. We are intentional with our resources and clear about what matters most. This role calls for someone who can build momentum in that environment, someone who is proactive, disciplined, and driven to bring greater resources into the fight against sex trafficking.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of successful nonprofit fundraising experience, specializing in major gifts
  • Proven ability to manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity donors and a track record of securing six and seven-figure gifts.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new major donors and securing multi-year commitments
  • Strong relationship-building skills with individuals, churches, and corporate partners
  • Highly organized and proactive, capable of managing a large donor portfolio
  • Comfortable using CRMs such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Virtuous, or Classy
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred
  • Alignment with and commitment to Atlas Free's faith-based mission and values
Compensation

Anticipated hiring range for this position is $85,000 - $92,000 per year. Final compensation will consider the candidate's skills, education, experience, credentials, and geographic location. Ranges are informed by industry benchmarks, labor market data, internal equity, and organizational budget.

Benefits

Atlas Free provides a robust core benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, HSA with employer contribution, 403b with employer match, generous paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, along with creative, cutting-edge fringe benefits designed to delight and inspire our team.

About Atlas Free

Atlas Free is a nonprofit organization building a global movement to put sex trafficking and exploitation out of business. Working in over 65 countries with over 140 Network Members, we unite funders, adventurers, and everyday people with the best local initiatives in the world to maximize impact and dismantle human trafficking. We specialize in accelerating frontline solutions and creating resources and tools to address one of the current most pressing global issues. Our faith informs our belief that all people are created with equal dignity and value-that there is always hope and that good is far more powerful than evil. The heart of our work is centered around the millions of men, women, and children living in exploitation and vulnerability every day.

Mission Statement

To accelerate and resource the fight against sex trafficking and exploitation.

Core Values
  • Trustworthy
  • Integrity
  • Strategic
  • Servant Leadership
  • Jesus-centric
  • Focused on the Mission

Statement of Faith

The work we do is informed and motivated by a deep faith in Jesus and a commitment to His teachings.

This is how we know what love is: "Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:16-18

We believe that all people are created in the image of God with inherent value. They are worthy of love, and our best efforts to affirm that value. Our programs serve all people from all backgrounds without discrimination of any kind. "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

We advocate for the vulnerable and exploited because we believe there is hope for a restored life and a better future. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free" - Jesus, Luke 4:18

Statement of Practice

As followers of Jesus, our desire is to obey his teachings in all areas of our lives. We understand that faith is deeply personal, and many of us may come from different Christian traditions, but we believe that we are part of "One Body" and united in our faith in Jesus. While some of our views and practices may vary, we share a commitment to Christian orthodoxy and scripture and a belief that spiritual community is an essential element of how we practice our faith. We share a commitment to "Love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and to love our neighbors like ourselves" (Matthew 22:23-40). As a diverse team from many countries, cultures, and Christian traditions, we focus on the elements and practices of our faith and orthodoxy that unite us and not divide us.

Please upload a cover letter, a copy of your resume, a list of three references, and your personal statement of faith (description of your Christian faith and how it applies to your work, spiritual disciplines, and the community of faith/worship in which you currently engage).
