Position Summary The Seattle Colleges are looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of Dental Hygiene courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment. Under the supervision of the Executive Dean-Healthcare and Human Services, the Part‑time Adjunct Faculty in the Dental Hygiene Program will be responsible for teaching assigned dental hygiene didactic and/or clinical courses. Specific assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background and quarterly curriculum scheduling. Part‑time Adjunct Faculty must possess, at a minimum, a Washington dental hygiene license and in the process of completing a master's degree in the field or related field. Successful applicants may be invited to interview at one of the colleges in the Seattle Colleges District, North Seattle, Seattle Central, or South Seattle. Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background, scheduling, and available courses. Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in‑class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle. The salary range for part‑time faculty is (generally P1: A1- E7): $7,703 - $11,537.33 (for a 5-credit single‑class workload per quarter). Target start rate of pay is $7,703 - $8,912 (for a 5-credit single‑class workload per quarter) A1-C3. Current unencumbered Registered Dental Hygienist with Washington State license or eligibility for licensure Process of completing master's degree in dental hygiene or relevant field Willingness to teach in a variety of formats and varied clinical settings according to program needs Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as face-to-face, online, or hybrid as needed.
