Construction Project Manager

Construction Project Manager Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley (HFHVV) is seeking a skilled professional to serve as Construction Project Manager in support of its mission to partner with local families to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the construction activities and oversight of Habitat homes, which are built by volunteers, staff, and subcontractors. Primary responsibilities include project planning and scheduling, budget management, procurement and inventory, subcontractor coordination, compliance and safety, and construction program development. This position reports to the Director of Construction. Responsibilities Budget – Collaborate with the Preconstruction Manager to further refine and develop the project budget. The Project Manager is responsible for monthly budget maintenance, monitoring, reports, and analysis. Schedule – Maintain detailed project schedule established by Preconstruction Manager that includes monthly reports of major milestones and project deadlines. Procurement – Prepare requests for proposals and bid packages for all services and materials. Procure bids for all services and materials, utilizing competitive bid process engaging multiple potential subcontractors. Planning and Permitting – Participates in the planning process of new projects and developments in conjunction with the Preconstruction Manager. Construction Site and Team Supervision – Assist with coordination of staff, volunteers, subcontractors, suppliers and inspectors on site. Occasionally step in to lead volunteers when there are large groups or special build days. Construction Program Development – Ensure a project adheres to the specifications and standards for each development and building project that are in accordance with HFH guidelines, current building codes and green and energy efficient practices. In-Kind Construction Partner Management – Keep a log quantifying all in-kind construction donations such as donated services or products, discounted services or products, skilled construction partner build days, etc. Job Site Safety & Management – Aid the Construction Director and Superintendent in development of safety policy and program that are in compliance with OSHA and Habitat regulations. Volunteer Management – Communicate volunteer needs, capacity, and schedule to Volunteer Coordinator. Help Volunteer Coordinator plan for volunteer days by communicating tasks to be performed. Community and Organizational Involvement – Work collaboratively within the organization to assist with the needs of homeowner services, development, and ReStore teams. Qualifications Skills Knowledge of current building practices, codes, and requirements. Demonstrated coaching and/or leadership experience. Advanced knowledge and hands‑on experience in residential construction is preferred. Ability to read and interpret all construction documents, including architectural and engineering drawings, site plans, technical specifications, bids and contracts. Familiarity with green building strategies preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project. Mastery of Excel preferred. Experience with Procore or other construction management software. Excellent organization skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Conversational Spanish speaking ability preferred Licenses and certifications OSHA 10 or 30 preferred Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred Experience: 5 years of experience in related construction management, project management, or superintendent roles. Compensation & Benefits The compensation range for this position is currently $83,072 to $98,648 per year. Initial compensation is determined based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience. Benefits offered include health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, retirement plan with 6% employer match, health savings account with up to $1,000 employer contribution, up to 6 weeks of vacation, holiday, and sick time, and paid medical leave. The schedule for this position is Tuesday – Saturday. This position is located in Gypsum, Colorado, however location may vary throughout Eagle County based on project locations.
