Job Description The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering Department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with design, laboratory technicians, purchasing, sales, manufacturing, and assembly teams on design projects. Duties And Responsibilities Fully manage design projects, following through from inception to production Develop new products Solve design problems; adapt, alter, and/or improve existing products Interpret design specifications and translate into design of custom hydraulic manifold housings and develop detailed drawings for the product Produce and maintain design drawings via CAD using PTC Creo Collaborate with Testing, Purchasing and manufacturing teams on design projects Lead design reviews for specific projects involving various departments Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on‑going improvement of processes and methods Write professional and technical reports after analyzing and interpreting data from various test sources to provide clear conclusions about the results Drive continuous efficiency and effectiveness in day‑to‑day activities Use documentation software including Q-Pulse and PDMLink (managing ECRs, ECNs & PECNs) Provide technical support and be a resource to other Engineers Support the organization with sharing and implementing best practices across all locations Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field Min. 5 years' relevant work experience. CAD proficiency with PTC Creo Hydraulic valve and/or manifold design or complex layout design Strong understanding of manufacturing processes Firm understanding of drafting practices; working knowledge of geometric tolerance practices In depth knowledge of hydraulic principles Strong understanding of valve types and functions; valve symbols and valve port logic Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively Ability to lead a design review and to interact with individuals and departments throughout the organization on a regular basis Accurate and detail oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks and objectives Ability to function effectively as part of a team Strong written and oral English communication skills Strong technical writing ability to provide in-depth conclusions regarding test data Ability to manage, work on, and assist with multiple projects simultaneously Ability to meet deadlines Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and analytical skills Ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the organization Strong organizational skills Skills Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively Ability to interact with individuals and departments throughout the organization Accurate and detail oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks and objectives Ability to function effectively as part of a team Strong written and oral English communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Sense of urgency, ability to meet deadlines Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and analytical skills Ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the organization Strong organizational skills Physical Requirements Lift and move a minimum of 5 pounds without assistance Travel Requirements Some overnight and international travel may be required. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate. Additional Information The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $132,000. Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only.
