Senior Scientist, DSCS Digital Technologies – Laboratory Automation, High Throughput Formulation We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our DSCS Digital Technologies (DDT) organization within Development Sciences and Clinical Supply (DSCS) in Rahway, NJ. Responsibilities Design the lab of the future by developing high throughput technologies that integrate robotics, analytical instrumentation, and software into cohesive, high-performing solutions Deliver world‑renowned science by partnering with researchers to understand experimental needs and convert them into scalable digital workflows Work at the intersection of multiple disciplines, collaborating with experts in automation, data science, modeling, IT, and the CMC community at large Lead high‑impact projects from concept through deployment, working across teams and stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes Continuously improve existing digital technologies and automation platforms to enhance performance, usability, and reliability Empower others by providing hands‑on partnership, support, troubleshooting, and training to scientists using these technologies Education Ph.D. in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely‑related field (expected graduation by September 2026) M.S. in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely‑related field with at least 2 years of industrial/pharmaceutical or relevant experience B.S. in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely‑related field with at least 4 years of industrial/pharmaceutical or relevant experience Required Experience and Skills Relevant working experience in drug product and/or drug substance development in support of biologics and/or vaccines assets Hands‑on experience with high‑throughput lab automation technologies to streamline formulation and/or bioprocess development Hands‑on experience with biochemical and biophysical analytical technologies commonly used in drug product development Demonstrated entrepreneurship skills aimed at delivering impactful novel technologies to key stakeholders Excellent communication skills, demonstrated creativity, and effective interpersonal skills Ability to deliver complex solutions under compressed timelines in a dynamic environment Ability to work in a team environment with cross‑functional interactions Preferred Experience and Skills Hands‑on experience with the development and implementation of high‑throughput lab automation technologies to streamline formulation and/or bioprocess development Experience with the development and implementation of design of experiments, data science, and data engineering tools to accelerate formulation or bioprocess development Experience in new technology research, including a demonstrated track record of identifying, developing, and deploying data‑rich tools and methodologies Evidence of cross‑functional collaboration in an academic or industrial setting Motivation to learn new skills, willingness to take on new challenges, and scientific curiosity Required Skills Adaptability Biomedical Engineering Biopharmaceuticals Bioprocessing Cross‑Functional Collaboration Data Analysis Data Visualization Digital Workflow Management Drug Delivery Technology Drug Development High‑Throughput Screening Innovative Thinking Interpersonal Relationships Laboratory Automation Pharmaceutical Development Pharmaceutical Sciences Preformulation Process Optimization Protein Biochemistry Preferred Skills Automation Development Build Automation Data Engineering Python (Programming Language) Compensation Salary Range: $117,000.00 – $184,200.00 Benefits Medical, dental, and vision healthcare insurance for employee and family Retirement benefits, including 401(k) Paid holidays, vacation, compassionate, and sick days Comprehensive benefit package Equal Employment Opportunity As an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer, we provide equal opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
