Loss Prevention Officer - NYC

Leads the Loss Prevention and Safety efforts within their assigned area, demonstrating JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in all actions. Responsibilities Conduct surveillance and apprehend external theft suspects in compliance with JD Finish Line standards. Complete checklists to ensure compliance with safety or loss prevention policies. Promote awareness programs related to shrink and operational controls. Assist with internal theft investigations alongside the LP Supervisor and RLPM. Identify and report merchandise or stock shortages. Maintain case records for operational, security, and injury–related incidents or investigations. Verify and inspect access points, physical security systems, and equipment to ensure proper functioning and regulatory compliance. Report safety concerns or potential violations. Train employees on systems, procedures, policies, and accident prevention methods. Respond to critical incidents, such as catastrophic events, medical emergencies, violent weather, or civil disorders. Perform additional duties and projects as required. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; additional 1 or more years of related experience in loss prevention, security, or store management. Computer Skills: Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite equivalents. Physical Demands Sit or stand for more than 7 hours per shift. Use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms. Talk and hear. Walk or move from one location to another regularly. Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Compensation Pay range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour.
