The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within a busy medical oncology office/infusion center setting. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following: Vitals Allergy & medication reconciliation Screenings Patient history Health maintenance Advance directives Virtual health Scheduling Work queues / Worklists Check in/check out Referrals In-basket Chart prep Non-clinical patient result callbacks Prior authorizations Transportation facilitation Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to: EKG Hemoglobin A1C Urinalysis Hemoglobin POCT Urine toxicity INR Qualifications Education: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative experience Experience: In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
