Job Details Position: NICU Registered Nurse Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Nursing Job Location: Charlottesville, Virginia 22908 Start Date: 08/31/2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Schedule: 36 hours per week; approximately 3 shifts per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 Setting: Pediatric float pool with NICU focus Orientation: 60 hours Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday required Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse license; pending Virginia RN license may be accepted if in hand by the required start timeline Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required NICU experience required; comfort working across pediatric critical care and acute care areas Epic charting experience required BLS , NRP , ACLS , and PALS required Infant-Driven Feeding certification required, or able to submit with pending completion Strong travel nursing experience preferred Must be comfortable floating within scope across multiple pediatric units BSN preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents Support patients in the NICU , PICU , pediatric ER, acute pediatrics, and related units as assigned Monitor and manage complex pediatric and neonatal conditions, including respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical needs Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation when assigned to NICU coverage Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies in accordance with unit standards Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, child life, therapy services, and other interdisciplinary team members Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and efficiently Adapt quickly to changing unit needs while maintaining a patient- and family-centered approach Follow all float pool policies, infection prevention standards, and clinical best practices Apply now to take the next step in your Virginia nursing job and join a dynamic pediatric healthcare team in Charlottesville!
