Echo Point Books & Media is a fast-growing independent audiobook publisher with a distinctive approach to acquisitions and production. We're looking for an Associate Audio Publisher to join our growing Echo Point audio team. An ideal candidate will be an adaptable contributor with a high level of integrity and self-awareness. Publishing is a people-driven industry and we pride ourselves on our reputation. Key responsibilities: Identify and evaluate prospective titles for the Echo Point catalogue Negotiate with independent authors, publishers, and literary agents to acquire audio rights and clear necessary permissions Monitor live titles' performance/feedback Collaborate with the production team to guide audiobook scripting, adaptation, and casting Maintain an active relationship as the author, publisher, or licensor's primary contact from first contact through production and post release Qualifications: Great fit with our team and a love of literature, especially non-fiction Self-starter with an ability to identify key areas with the most potential for meaningful contributionExcellent research/analysis ability - we spend meaningful time assessing the viability of projects through evaluating the potential return on investment and the content of the work, and then ultimately tracking down the rightsholder Independent and creative problem solver - many of our most enduring titles involve evaluating complex text, working with independently minded authors, or finding new methods of tracking down and contacting current rightsholders for books that are decades old. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized A good 'ear'/instinct that can be continually fine-tuned Strong time management skills Ability to make judgement calls when it comes to prioritizing tasks Good fit with Echo Point core values Preferred Qualifications: Publishing, research or dramatic arts experience Niche expertise/interests #J-18808-Ljbffr
