Job Title: Step-Down RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac monitoring - Dysrhythmia interpretation - IV/Vascular access - Blood product administration - BiPAP/CPAP management Description: The Step-Down RN is responsible for managing patients in a critical care step-down environment. The RN will care for patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, and post-vascular procedures. The role requires frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks. Post-heart catheterization care and monitoring is essential. The RN must manage cardiac drips and administer medications, including emergency medications. Dysrhythmia management and interpretation are crucial aspects of the position. The unit focuses on infection prevention and ensuring patient safety. The ideal candidate will possess skills in procedural sedation administration and monitoring. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Support will be provided for all aspects of patient care and safety. Candidates should have experience in telemetry and cardiac care. This position offers guaranteed hours with weekend coverage required. The RN will function in a caring and professional manner to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
