Marine Outside Sales Account Manager - GCG Connectivity & Power Solutions

Overview As we continue to grow and expand our national footprint, GCG Connectivity & Power Solutions is currently seeking an Outside Sales Account Manager to join our commercial team! As our Outside Sales Account Manager, you'll focus on growing GCG’s marine-grade wire and cable business by connecting customers with dependable solutions for power, communication, navigation, safety, and emergency systems. You’ll manage and expand customer relationships, pursue new business opportunities, and provide solution-oriented support for marine applications where performance, durability, and reliability matter. This is a highly independent, field‑based sales role for someone who enjoys building partnerships, solving customer challenges, and turning market opportunities into long‑term business growth on key customer accounts in a territory. This position offers a remote work arrangement but does require approximately 60% travel to customer sites within a territory that includes Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. Accordingly, being located within this territory is a requirement. What you’ll do Sales & Territory Development Develop and execute account growth plans for assigned customers and prospects Use the company’s sales process to expand existing business and acquire new accounts Identify customer needs and develop solutions to address business challenges Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and quotations to customers Communicate customer, competitor, and market insights to business leadership Technical Sales & Support Lead technical discussions on product specifications and tailored solutions Present tailored solutions and proposals based on unique customer needs Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration Work closely with our sourcing and operations teams to deliver solutions aligned with customer and business objectives Engage with key strategic vendor partners to support growth within the marine and commercial ship-building verticals Relay customer, market, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders for strategic planning CRM & Pipeline Management Maintain an active and accurate pipeline using Salesforce CRM Provide regular account updates and territory reports to sales leadership Customer Engagement & Industry Involvement Represent GCG at trade shows, industry events, and client site visits Foster trusted partnerships by acting as a technical advisor and solution provider Maintain high responsiveness and customer service standards throughout the sales cycle What you’ll bring Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree Minimum of 5 years in technical outside sales with a strong preference for experience specifically in the pleasure boat and ship-building market Proven experience engaging with engineers, technical buyers, and OEM project teams Demonstrated success in territory development and consultative sales Skills & Competencies Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate product specs clearly Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Highly organized with strong self‑direction and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM Ability to travel 50–60% of the time (may be higher in the first year) What we offer Competitive base salary of $120,000 to $135,000 per year commensurate with level of industry and outside sales experience; commissions-based incentive plan Comprehensive Health Coverage Multiple medical plan options (CDHP and PPO) to get you the coverage you need Robust Financial Security Company-paid life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, plus options for supplemental critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity plans Generous Time Off PTO plan with paid holidays, paid parental leave, and paid compassionate care leave to support personal well‑being and family needs Wellness & Support Programs Employee Assistance Program (EAP), wellness incentives, and telehealth access Extras That Matter Dental and vision plans, FSAs/HSAs with company contributions, pet insurance, legal services, and ID theft protection for peace of mind Employee-centric company that values and truly appreciates our most important asset: You!
