Key Personnel is seeking a Buyer for a food distribution company in the Tulsa, OK area.

Buyer Pay Rate: $52,000 – $67,000 annually (based on experience)

Buyer Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Create and issue purchase orders within ERP system (Produce Pro) based on lead times, usage, and minimum order quantities
• Confirm purchase orders for accuracy in pricing, quantity, and delivery timelines
• Monitor and follow up on overdue and unconfirmed purchase orders to ensure timely fulfillment
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date open order reports
• Communicate with vendors to resolve issues including returns, credits, shortages, and discrepancies
• Maintain and update vendor and product information, including item numbers, pack sizes, and weights
• Request, track, and maintain product specifications and Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
• Partner with Inventory Control to manage product rotation, code dates, and minimize spoilage
• Collaborate with inventory and receiving teams to resolve quality, damage, or inbound shipment issues
• Monitor and minimize shorted or out-of-stock items
• Support continuous improvement in procurement and inventory processes
• Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned

Buyer Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Prior produce and/or food purchasing experience is required
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in purchasing, distribution, or manufacturing environment
• Experience with purchasing, inventory, and distribution systems required
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Produce Pro preferred) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to travel as needed
