Paramedic, Early Phase Clinical Research - Daytona Beach, FL

Fortrea seeks a paramedic to serve as primary safety contact for early-phase clinical trial participants in a Daytona Beach research unit. The role combines emergency medical skills with protocol adherence, participant monitoring, and adverse event documentation under physician oversight.

Responsibilities

• Monitor study participants continuously for safety and well-being within clinical research unit
• Deliver basic and advanced medical care in emergent and non-emergent situations per scope of practice
• Document and communicate adverse events to investigator; escalate participant safety concerns
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures including blood draws, vital signs, ECGs per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical team to ensure coordinated participant care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• State paramedic licensure or certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• 2+ years paramedic experience preferred
• Proficiency in airway management, IV establishment, subcutaneous injections
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and emergency situations
