Associate Attorney

Role Description The Associate Attorney MUST speak Spanish and will work on a full-time, on-site basis in Chicago, IL, supporting the firm’s legal matters from initial intake through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting court appearances, legal research, drafting motions, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence, and providing legal advice under supervision. The role involves reviewing case files, preparing for hearings and negotiations, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. The Associate Attorney will assist in case strategy development, attend meetings and court appearances as needed, and help manage deadlines and documentation to ensure efficient case progression.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law with the ability to interpret statutes, regulations, and case law, including exposure to Labor and Employment Law.
• Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients while collaborating with senior attorneys on complex matters.
• Proficiency in Research, including legal research tools, fact-gathering, and analysis to support motions, briefs, and case strategy.
• Effective Negotiation skills, with the capacity to help resolve disputes, participate in settlement discussions, and advocate for client interests.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active Illinois bar admission (or eligibility for prompt admission).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in an office setting.
• Prior experience in litigation or family law, probate and real estate matters is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn and take initiative is essential.
