The Service Advisor Service Writer serves as a vital link between customers and the service department, ensuring an exceptional service experience through clear communication and efficient coordination. This role involves assessing vehicle service needs, explaining repair options, and managing service orders, primarily focusing on warranty, recall management, and standard maintenance for heavy duty trucks. The advisor reports directly to the Service Manager and provides daily updates to customers on service progress, working exclusively on-site.

 

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assess vehicle service needs
• Provide clear explanations of services, repairs, and warranty options
• Prepare and submit accurate service orders
• Coordinate with technicians to communicate customer requests and updates
• Manage and resolve customer service inquiries and issues promptly
• Maintain organized service records and documentation
• Upsell additional services to enhance customer satisfaction
• Utilize CDK system and warranty knowledge
• Apply knowledge of Cummins and heavy duty truck repair

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in automotive service advising
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Effective problem-solving and time management abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service scheduling
• Familiarity with upselling techniques and record keeping
• Attention to detail
