PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
The Wooster City School District has established an Administrative Internship program for teachers who aspire to become administrators in the near future. The administrative intern will work closely with the administrative team to grow and develop professionally in a leadership role and gain valuable experience.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate Ohio Teaching Certificate/License
• Goal of obtaining a Master's Degree or higher in educational administration
• Goal of obtaining Principal's License
• Three or more years of experience as a full-time classroom teacher
• Successful leadership experience as a classroom teacher
• Strong team leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as a member of an administrative team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to relate effectively with a diverse staff, students, parents, and community
• Ability to motivate staff members and students
• Ability to work with staff and students in an alternative educational environment
• Creativity in implementing an educational environment to meet the needs of at-risk students
• Knowledge of curriculum development, design model the skills and ability to be an instructional leader in a school setting
• Commitment to excellence and improving student performance
• Knowledge of and experience in working with programs for students with special needs
• Ability to enforce established discipline expectations with student consistently, yet have the ability to recognize situations that may call for flexibility and creativity
• Personal conflict resolution skills
• Ability to involve parents in issues that arise with students
• Commitment to working with and promoting parent and community involvement in school operations
• Understanding of the Ohio Improvement Process
  PROGRAM COMPLETION:
  Upon successful completion of the Administrative Internship program, the intern will have the ability to apply for an open administrative position with the Wooster City School District or apply for an open teaching position in their certification area with the Wooster City School District.
  LEGAL REQUIREMENTS :
• Candidates (unless current employees) must pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
