Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Psychiatric Nursing Duration: 9 weeks Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with 2 years of current psychiatric nursing experience preferred. License: Client RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI or PMCS Certification required. Must-Have: - Experience in Psychiatric Nursing - Critical Thinking Skills - Patient Assessment - Interdisciplinary Collaboration Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe and competent quality care to a designated group of patients and their significant others. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care. Applies the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Prioritizes aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care. Educates patients and caregivers about their plan of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. Manages assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing. Role models the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various patient engagement strategies. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family. Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects. Contributes to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures. Implements principles to identify and avoid high-risk behaviors to provide a safe environment for patients. Documents nursing practice in compliance with hospital requirements and standards of care. Facilitates patient throughput on a shift basis. Advances clinical competence in nursing practice to progress from novice to expert. Encourages lifelong learning and innovation for self and others.
