Youth and Community Program Coordinator

Pig Works is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Youth and Community Program Coordinator to oversee and grow several of the organization's signature community impact initiatives. This position is responsible for the management and expansion of the Flying Pig Youth Programs, including the Kids’ Marathon 26th Mile and Fly Up to 5K, while also providing support for the PigAbilities program and the Flying Pig Community Scholars program. The coordinator will work closely with schools, community organizations, participants, volunteers, and program partners to increase access to healthy lifestyles, physical activity, educational opportunities, and inclusive participation throughout the Greater Cincinnati region. Key Responsibilities Youth Program Management Oversee all aspects of the Flying Pig Marathon youth programs, including the Kids’ Marathon 26th Mile and Fly Up to 5K. Recruit and maintain communication with group leaders involved in Flying Pig youth initiatives with an emphasis on Northern Kentucky schools. Develop and distribute program materials, including Hog Logs, Nutrition Guides, Coaches Guides, Paper Entry Forms, Mileage Tracking Charts, Program Flyers, Group Registration Instructions, and Group Leader/Race Roster Access Guides. Create and manage timelines for all youth programs, ensuring registration deadlines and custom shirt orders are met. Coordinate group leader packet pick-up dates and manage youth program expo packet distribution. PigAbilities Program Support Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of PigAbilities events and activities. Coordinate communication with athletes, caregivers, adaptive sports organizations, volunteers, and community partners. Support race weekend operations and participant experience for PigAbilities athletes. Help identify opportunities to expand participation and enhance accessibility across Pig Works events. Flying Pig Community Scholars Program Support Coordinate scholarship application and review processes. Maintain communication with scholarship recipients, schools, donors, and community partners. Assist with scholarship recognition events and program activities. Maintain records and assist with reporting on scholarship outcomes and impact. Community Outreach and Engagement Establish and maintain relationships with school administrators, teachers, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders. Attend school visits, community meetings, and outreach events to promote Pig Works programs. Support efforts to increase participation among underserved and underrepresented populations. Manage communications through designated program email accounts. Develop and manage on-site programming at new Pig Works office. Event Management Organize and execute race-day operations for youth and community programs. Coordinate participant logistics, packet distribution, volunteer assignments, and event-day communications. Support the planning and execution of the Kids’ Marathon 26th Mile, PigAbilities events, and Community Scholars recognition activities. Support organizational efforts to make all Pig Works events accessible to all abilities. Administrative Duties Maintain accurate participation, scholarship, and program records. Prepare reports on program outcomes, participation levels, and community impact. Assist in developing and managing program budgets. Support grant reporting and donor stewardship efforts related to community impact programs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education, sports management, public health, nonprofit management, recreation, communications, or a related field. Proven experience in program coordination, community engagement, education, nonprofit administration, youth development, or event management. Experience working with youth programs, accessibility initiatives, scholarship programs, or community-based organizations preferred. Strong understanding of health, wellness, physical activity, and community impact programming. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences, including students, educators, parents, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to creating inclusive opportunities that promote health, wellness, education, accessibility, and community engagement. Familiarity with Pig Works, the Flying Pig Marathon, and the Greater Cincinnati community is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software platforms. This position requires occasional evening and weekend work, particularly during the lead-up to the Flying Pig Marathon.
