Job Summary:

The Quality Technician ensures that all manufactured products, assembly kits, and incoming materials meet stringent customer specifications and regulatory standards within a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for conducting daily product inspections, auditing assembly lines, performing material testing, and identifying non-conformances before product dispatch. Working closely with quality engineering and production personnel, the Quality Technician plays a vital role in maintaining zero-defect production, driving continuous improvement, and supporting strict industry compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed physical inspections, dimensional measurements, and functional testing on incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished assembly kits.
• Perform regular quality audits across assembly lines to ensure compliance with standardized work instructions, bill of materials (BOM), and packaging requirements.
• Document and log inspection findings, test results, and quality metrics into the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and database.
• Identify, quarantine, and tag non-conforming materials or finished goods, issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assisting with root-cause analysis.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment, gauges, and precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and compliance with maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and assembly leads to address quality discrepancies immediately and prevent recurring defect trends.
• Support customer audit preparations, internal compliance evaluations, and trace-ability tracking for all inspected production lots.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, or Quality Assurance Specialist in a light manufacturing, automotive, or assembly environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, schematics, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and bill of materials (BOM).
• Equipment Knowledge: Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, torque wrenches, and digital testing devices.
• Systems Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) or ERP software.
• Analytical Ability: Solid problem-solving skills with familiarity in root-cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis, CAPA).
• Education & Certifications: High School Diploma or GED required; ASQ Certification (such as Certified Quality Inspector - CQI) or Associate degree in a technical field is a strong plus.
• Detail & Communication: Exceptional attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production setting.
