Supervising Deputy Attorney General - Government Litigation

The Supervising Deputy Attorney General - Government Litigation represents the State of Indiana in a wide range of civil cases including class actions, constitutional challenges, contract disputes, and injunctions.
This role involves handling all phases of litigation from research and pleadings through trial, while also supervising assigned attorneys and paralegals and advising state agencies on litigation matters.
The position is located in Indianapolis within the Office of the Attorney General's Litigation Division, which serves as the state's law firm.
Key Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Indiana and admitted to U.S. District Courts for Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana
- Five or more years of legal practice preferred with civil litigation experience in federal and state court
- Supervisory/management experience preferred
- Strong legal research and writing skills with emphasis on clear, persuasive writing and capable oral advocacy
- Knowledge of federal and state practice rules, constitutional law, and relevant statutes and regulations
- Ability to manage high-profile and complex caseloads and work effectively with attorneys and support staff
