Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and initial consultations to understand client needs and formulating subsequent treatment plans.

• Design and implement evidence-based intervention strategies to address a range of mental health issues across various demographics.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress and treatment effectiveness, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create coordinated care plans and referrals for additional support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Virginia is a must.

• A successful pass score in the National Counseling Exam (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the mental health field, providing direct counseling services is essential.

• Proficiency in electronic health record management systems, specifically AVATAR, to ensure effective case documentation and tracking.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines is advantageous.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on creating empathetic and engaging client interactions.
