Job Description: - Shift: Nights 7PM - 7AM - Experience Required: 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience What You'll Do: - Provide exceptional care to obstetric patients 20 weeks gestation. - Manage labor and delivery, including both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. - Conduct OB emergency/triage evaluations and postpartum surgical care like tubal ligations. - Practice nursing independently while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of each patient situation. - Deliver routine and complex care with a focus on long-term goals and plans. - Handle and manage clinical contingencies effectively. - Assign and delegate tasks to other care providers to optimize clinical situations. Responsibilities: - Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies. - Utilize the nursing process – assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation – for assigned patients. - Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families. - Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. - Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. - Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers. Job Requirements: - Education/Skills: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience: - 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred. - Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: - BLS required (AHA only). - Current certification from AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM). - Current NRP and ACLS certifications required. - RN License in the state of TX or compact. - Position Requirements: - Attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. - Precepted by a designated trained staff member with successful completion of required competencies. - Complete all annual competency verification requirements. - Experience: - Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal Setting preferred.
