Intensive Care / Coronary Care Registered Nurse

The Intensive Care / Coronary Care Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for critically ill, post-operative, ventilator, post cardiac arrest, post heart cath, hemodynamic stabilization and other critically ill patients in the units. The Registered Nurse responds to code and emergent situations as a team member within the hospital. The Registered Nurse participates in-patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the intensive care / coronary care setting.

Job Summary and Qualifications Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process. Participates and cooperates in the unit-based Quality Improvement processes. Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel. Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers. Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient's right to privacy by protecting confidential information. Plans and implements patient care and teaching based on a total assessment and the age of the patient. Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need: Must have 1 year of recent acute care ICU experience (Will consider a 2-year PCU RN) Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Registered Nurse Associate Degree
