Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Onsite

Schedule: Full‑time; Weekday shifts; Occasional weekend rotation depending on clinic needs

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support daily clinical operations within a fast‑paced outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high‑quality patient care. This role requires strong clinical skills, professionalism, and the ability to provide compassionate support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and documentation in the electronic health record
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and clinical workflows
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure a clean and safe environment
• Administer medications and injections as permitted by certification and state regulations
• Support patient education, follow‑up instructions, and care coordination
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection, point‑of‑care testing, and documentation
• Manage patient scheduling, referrals, and communication with internal teams
• Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training
• Current Medical Assistant certification or eligibility, depending on state requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and clinical staff
• Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient, primary care, or specialty clinic setting
• Familiarity with clinical workflows , patient triage, and provider support
• Experience with rooming patients, administering injections, and assisting with minor procedures
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment

This position plays an essential part in supporting patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The Medical Assistant will interact directly with patients, contribute to clinical efficiency, and uphold high standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Oakland, CA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
