Position Overview Immigration Legal Assistant Location: Edison, NJ Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $18–$20 per hour Join a Growing Immigration Law Firm Making a Difference The Law Office of Abhisha Parikh is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Immigration Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team in Edison, New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone with experience reviewing immigration filings and supporting attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced legal environment. As an Immigration Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our team provide exceptional service to clients navigating complex immigration matters. We are looking for a motivated professional who thrives on organization, accuracy, and client-focused support. Key Responsibilities Review immigration intake forms for accuracy and completeness Review and organize supporting documentation for immigration filings Assist attorneys and paralegals with case preparation and file management Draft client declarations and other supporting legal documents Manage office communications, including answering phone calls and responding to emails Schedule meetings, consultations, and appointments Track case deadlines and ensure timely follow-up on pending matters Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other legal offices as needed Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence Maintain accurate records within legal case management systems Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the firm Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in a law firm, legal assistant, administrative assistant, or legal secretary role Prior experience reviewing immigration forms and supporting documents preferred Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel Experience with legal case management, docketing, or legal software systems Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate\'s degree or some college coursework preferred What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Opportunity to work alongside experienced immigration attorneys and legal professionals Supportive, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment Meaningful work helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration system Professional growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding law firm About the Law Office of Abhisha Parikh The Law Office of Abhisha Parikh is a woman-owned and woman-led immigration law firm dedicated to helping immigrants achieve their American dream.
