Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Virginia license pending accepted Certifications: BLS preferred, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Position available on a 27-bed General Medicine Unit. Nurses will care for a variety of disease processes involving respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune, infectious disease, and renal systems. The expected patient ratio during the day is 4 patients per nurse. Every other weekend is required, along with working 2 out of 3 winter holidays. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Approval for time off will be considered. Candidates must adhere to the float policy. Experience with charting using Epic is required. This unit supports interdisciplinary care including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy among others. Special patient diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, and heart failure. Nurses will manage patient care including nurse-driven infusions, telemetry monitoring, and wound care. Special equipment includes lift equipment, PCA pumps, and bladder scanners.
