Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Acute Inpatient Rehab position on night shift, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Inpatient Rehab unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
• Weekend rotation required, with a Sun-Mon-Tues block schedule accommodation
• Floating to MedSurg required if rehab census is low
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Paragon charting system

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Prior Acute Inpatient Rehab or Acute Rehab hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, including starting/maintaining IVs, blood draws, and administration of blood products preferred
• Experience with orthopedic care including assistive devices, mobilization techniques, suture/staple removal, and total joint replacement care preferred
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, and seizure disorders preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management, suctioning, and oxygen delivery preferred
• Experience with wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and fall risk assessment preferred
• Experience with PEG tube feeding, swallowing precautions, and thickened liquids preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in an acute rehabilitation setting, managing orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical recovery patients
• Perform patient teaching, pain assessment and management, and infection prevention protocols
• Apply Medicare Quality Measures standards in daily care
• No holiday coverage required
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Pending RN licenses not accepted
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
