JOB SUMMARY: 

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist our providers in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role also supports the organization's Occupational Medicine program by performing DOT-compliant urine drug screening (UDS) collections, non-DOT drug testing, and Workers' Compensation services in accordance with applicable federal, state, and organizational requirements.  In addition, this position will ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive environment while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office staff and clinical staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with physician orders.
• Ensure proper patient positioning, technique, and radiation safety protocols.
• Prepare and maintain imaging equipment; report any malfunctions.
• Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
• Maintain accurate records of imaging procedures and patient data, including retrieving and archiving radiolographic reports
• Assist with front and back office duties as needed, such as rooming patients, taking vital signs, or assisting with medical procedures (if applicable).
• Perform occupational health services, including urine drug screen (UDS) specimen collection in accordance with DOT and company protocols.
• Maintain DOT Urine Specimen Collector certification and perform DOT-compliant collections in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40 requirements.
• Assist with Workers' Compensation evaluations.
• Support occupational medicine services including pre-employment, random, return-to-work, and reasonable suspicion.
• Ensure accurate chain-of-custody documentation and maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and employer requirements related to occupational health testing.
• Follow HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Provide proper, concise and complete EMR documentation and paper based documentation for all assessment and procedures.  
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS :

• An Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Active, unrestricted and state appropriate Radiologic Technologist license and/or certification
• Current X-ray certification and must meet all other applicable requirements by law including state licensure in radiology technology or must have obtained the passing certification letter as applicable and required by state 
• Maintain CEU/CME’s as applicable for licensure 
• Currently affiliated with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)(e.g. Certified and Registered with AART 
• DOT Urine Specimen Collector Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).

EXPERIENCE:

• 1–2 Years Minimum : Preferably in a similar outpatient or ambulatory setting
• Workflow Efficiency : Experience with fast-paced, high-patient-volume environments is a plus.
• Proper Positioning & Safety : Strong understanding of patient positioning and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
• Experience in Occupational Medicine, Workers' Compensation, and DOT/non-DOT drug testing preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations related to drug and alcohol testing is preferred.
