Office Manager – Big Country Family Dental (Ellensburg, WA)
Big Country Family Dental is growing and we need an experienced office manager to help keep things running smoothly as we grow. If you like being the person who makes a busy office feel happy and yet calm and organized, we’d love to meet you.
About us
We’re a locally owned family dental practice in downtown Ellensburg. We care for kids, parents, and grandparents across the Kittitas Valley. Our team is small and close-knit, and we work hard to make every visit feel personal and to give top-notch quality care.
About the role
You’ll be the hub of the front office. A year from now, success looks like this: a schedule that runs on time, insurance claims that get paid without chasing, a front desk team that feels supported, and patients who leave knowing exactly what comes next.
What you’ll do
- Manage the daily schedule to keep chair time full and wait times short
- Oversee insurance verification, claims, and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims
- Handle patient billing, payment plans, and treatment cost estimates with clear, kind communication
- Lead and support front desk staff, including training, scheduling, and day-to-day coaching
- Track key numbers (collections, production, unscheduled treatment) and share them with Dr. Sarah
- Coordinate with vendors, maintain office systems, and keep supplies and records organized
- Help new patients, feel welcome and informed
What we’re looking for
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in a dental or medical office front desk, billing, or management role
- Experience with dental insurance verification and claims
- Experience using practice management software (Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend- we also provide training for this)
- Comfort handling money conversations with patients clearly and respectfully
Preferred:
- Experience supervising or training front office staff
- Familiarity with the Ellensburg and Kittitas County community
- Experience helping an office through growth or a patient transition
Pay and benefits
- $26–$35 per hour, depending on experience
- Full-time position
