Equipment Operator Full Time Technical Iowa Mill, Cedar Rapids, IA, US Salary Range: $28.00 To $34.00 Hourly MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Highschool or equivalent. Experience: Prior experience with hook/roll-off trucks and wheel loaders preferred. Prior experience with heavy equipment. Certificate/Licensure: Valid driver's license. CDL Class A or B (preferred). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operation of equipment combinations (Roll Off/Hook Truck, Wheel Loader, Forklift). Operation of equipment in industrial waste, soil amendments and other non-hazardous solids on customer facilities, designated landfills, recycling facilities, or land sites for disposal, recycling, or beneficial use. Practice and promote safety; including but not limited to, assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE. Able to do some manual labor and lift 50 lbs. Basic housekeeping of work area. Basic care and maintenance of equipment. Maintain communication with supervisors and team members. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to pass a drug test. Safe driving record. Other duties as assigned and relevant to position. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: General knowledge of the principles, practices and processes including current Federal and State laws, statutes, regulations, policies. Ability to use personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA exposure control program. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, other employees, and the general public. Ability to read, interpret and apply company policies and procedures. Ability to use accuracy in the identification and reporting of data. Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime and/or weekends. Job functions will be carried out in a vast array of environments including but not limited to maintenance facilities, job sites, customer facilities, vehicles, agricultural sites, landfills, end user facilities, etc. Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel. Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs. The workplace is in a smoke-free environment. PPE is required and must be worn as instructed. Must adhere to all safety requirements. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: 100% - Operates equipment in accordance with the Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) requirements as well as Customer and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle. Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment. Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Manager.
