Financial Controller

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Controller to join our team. Position Overview We are looking for a skilled Controller with a minimum of 6 years of experience to manage our financial operations and ensure the smooth financial functioning of our firm. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing financial processes, supervising staff, and collaborating with top management. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Supervise and lead a team of two staff members, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Oversee the budgeting process for projects, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and revenue. Implement financial controls and best practices to safeguard the company's assets. Work closely with top management to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Maintain a strong understanding of QuickBooks and use it for financial record-keeping. Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and tax preparation. Assist in the preparation of annual financial budgets and forecasts. Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Manage cash flow and optimize working capital. Handle any other financial tasks and special projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a Controller or similar financial management role. Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis. Excellent leadership and supervisory skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders. Knowledge of project budgeting and financial management in the architecture or construction industry is preferred. Highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
