Benefits: Per Diem Overtime Dental insurance Health insurance Job Description: Ribbon Splicer – Data Center (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Abilene, TX (long-term project) Schedule: 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation | 6x10 or 6x12 shifts Overtime: 20+ hours per week Pay: $27 to $40 per hour (based on ribbon experience) (up to $44 based on high count cable and data center experience) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire About the Role We are hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Ribbon Splicer to support a large-scale data center project in Abilene, TX. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with competitive pay and travel benefits. The successful candidate will bring proven ribbon fiber splicing experience, OTDR testing expertise, and the flexibility to work in a demanding data center environment. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality ribbon fiber optic splicing, including mass fusion splicing. Conduct OTDR testing and troubleshoot as needed to ensure network integrity. Document all splicing and testing results with precision. Follow industry best practices and safety standards at all times. Collaborate with project managers and team members to meet deadlines. Requirements 1+ years of ribbon splicing experience (data center experience strongly preferred). Proficiency with OTDR testing equipment. Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in splicing and testing. Willingness to work extended hours on a rotational schedule (3 weeks on, 1 week off). Must be open to long-term assignment work in Abilene, TX. Compensation & Benefits Pay: $27 to $40 per hour (based on ribbon experience) (up to $44 based on high count cable and data center experience) Per Diem: $178/day (paid 7 days a week while traveling). Schedule: 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation | 6x10 or 6x12 shifts. Overtime: 20+ hours per week. Referral Program: Competitive referral bonus program available.
