Human Resources Manager - Social Sciences 2

Job Description The College of Arts & Sciences seeks an HR Manager to provide comprehensive human resources support for the Social Sciences 2 cohort, collaborating closely with academic leadership, finance partners, and shared service teams. Reporting to the Director of Personnel Services, the role delivers end‑to‑end HR services across staff, student, and academic functions. Key Responsibilities Act as the academic human resources adviser and manage all aspects of faculty hires, reappointments, leave requests, FMLA and sabbatical requests. Prepare and submit employment packets, coordinate faculty committees, submit quarterly payroll rosters, and resolve HR/payroll tickets. (40%) Serve as the student employment expert, managing all faculty‑student employee hires, offering letters, and ensuring fellowships and stipends are issued on time. Assist faculty with hiring other hourly or temporary employees as required. (35%) Partner with the Finance Manager to inform hires and leaves of their impact on planned spend and provide front‑line staff with guidance on time sheet completion. (20%) Other duties as assigned. (5%) Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Minimum of four years of experience in human resources Additional Qualifications Experience synthesizing diverse data sources to reach personnel and policy recommendations, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to non‑HR audiences. Primarily onsite but may offer up to two remote workdays per week.
