Supported by a group of respected and highly-skilled local physicians, McLeod Seacoast features cardiology and electrophysiology, vascular surgery, orthopedics, and pulmonary medicine. McLeod Loris Seacoast is part of McLeod Health, the region's largest healthcare network, and serves Horry County in South Carolina and parts of Brunswick and Columbus Counties in North Carolina. McLeod Loris is a 50 bed hospital that specialized in general surgery, women's services, emergency care and critical care. McLeod Health has announced that the state Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has approved a Certificate of Need (CON) to build a 48 bed, 4-story hospital to serve Carolina Forest. McLeod Health was the first health system to recognize the need for health care closer to the homes of Carolina Forest, by beginning development of the campus just off Hwy 31 at International Boulevard with the purchase of that property in 2014.
