Senior Operations Manager
Location: Monroe, NJ
Position Overview
A growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee distribution center operations, financial performance, safety, and continuous improvement. This leader will drive operational efficiency, develop high-performing teams, and ensure exceptional customer service while meeting financial and productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily 3PL distribution center operations, including warehousing, fulfillment, inventory management, shipping, and value-added services.
- Lead, develop, and motivate warehouse managers, supervisors, and frontline teams.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve service.
- Manage budgets, labor, variable expenses, and financial performance to achieve established targets.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality, safety, customer service, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Leverage WMS, automation, and operational technology to improve processes and performance.
- Partner with sales and account management teams to support customer retention, satisfaction, and business growth.
- Develop operational strategies aligned with broader company objectives and growth initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, warehousing, or 3PL operations.
- 5+ years in a senior operations leadership role.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (or green) required
- Proven experience managing high-volume fulfillment or distribution center operations.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams and driving measurable improvements in productivity, cost, and service.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, labor management, and operational performance.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and warehouse management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant logistics and financial systems.
