Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Job Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, 733-bed Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital,
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with telemetry monitoring on the unit,
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6,
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00),
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating required within the hospital or to a sister campus depending on assignment,
• No on-call requirement,
• Charts in Epic (experience required),

Job Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand - pending licensure not accepted,
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required,
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS),
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible,

Additional Information

• Care responsibilities include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, blood product administration, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen), heparin protocols, PCA management, wound care, and isolation precautions,
• Patient population may include neurological, orthopedic, surgical, oncology, and trauma cases,
• Royal blue and white scrubs required,
• Pre-start orientation modules required (approximately 4-10 hours, completed before the first day),
• RTO maximum of 4 days per contract; only 1 holiday can be approved,
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning,
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice (3 contracts total), after which a 6-month gap is required before reapplying,
