Branch Chief, Office of Contract Engineering

Under the direction of an Area Construction Manager, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent will: supervise a technical and professional staff supporting North Region engineers, resident engineers and other field staff with timely and accurate processing of construction contract administration documents for construction projects throughout North Region; develop and monitor performance metrics; participate in various teams and committees; and develop and prepare directives, memorandums and reports. The Contract Engineering Branch Chief maintains liaison with the North Region Construction staff, Headquarter Construction staff, Design Staff, and other Caltrans functional units. Must be a professional licensed engineer and a valid California drivers license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Working Conditions


This position is located at 723 D Street, Marysville, Ca, Yuba County

The work is primarily conducted in an office environment with occasional trips to construction field offices or project sites. When working at the base office site, the incumbent will be in a climate-controlled environment with artificial lighting. When on construction project sites, the incumbent will be subject to noise, odors, dust and possible extreme weather conditions.
