About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students to play a pivotal role in shaping a student experience that is distinctively WestConn. The successful candidate will be a forward-looking leader, dedicated to designing a more connected, creative, and responsive student experience that supports persistence, strengthens community, and advances the institution's mission as an engine of opportunity. This role is central to the company's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in student affairs, with a focus on student success, wellbeing, and community engagement. Key responsibilities for the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students include providing strategic leadership for the student experience, overseeing student support and care, and fostering a culture of belonging and accountability. The role demands a leader who can manage complex situations with sound judgment, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and use data and technology to inform decisions. The candidate should have a master's degree in a related field, with a preference for those holding an earned doctorate, and at least 7 years' of experience in student affairs. Essential qualifications include a student-centered, equity-minded approach, and a demonstrated ability to lead and improve student-facing services. The role also requires experience in crisis management, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus community.
