Risk Analyst Consultant – RCSA & Operational Risk
\nIndustry: Financial Services / Banking Consulting
\nEmployment Type: Consulting / Contract
\nLocation: To Be Confirmed
\n \nAbout the Opportunity
\nWe are partnering with a leading consulting organization seeking Risk Analyst Consultants to support a large-scale Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) engagement within the banking and financial services industry.
\n \nThis opportunity is ideal for emerging risk professionals with experience in banking risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, or operational risk who are looking to expand their consulting experience.
\n \nThe Risk Analyst Consultant will support the identification, assessment, documentation, and monitoring of business risks and associated controls. Working alongside experienced consultants and client stakeholders, this individual will help evaluate control effectiveness, identify potential gaps, support remediation activities, and strengthen the organization's overall risk management framework.
\n \nCandidates with banking risk experience are encouraged to apply. Direct RCSA experience and exposure to Global Systemically Important Banks (GSIBs) are highly preferred but not required.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\nRisk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
\n- \n
- Support the execution and documentation of RCSA activities across business processes and functions. \n
- Assist in identifying and evaluating operational, regulatory, and business risks. \n
- Assess the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks. \n
- Support evaluations of control design and operating effectiveness. \n
- Identify potential control gaps, weaknesses, and emerging risks. \n
- Document risk assessments, control findings, and supporting evidence. \n
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure risk and control documentation is accurate and complete. \n
Risk Monitoring & Remediation
\n- \n
- Assist in developing and tracking remediation plans for identified control deficiencies. \n
- Monitor corrective actions and maintain accurate issue-tracking documentation. \n
- Support the monitoring and analysis of key risk indicators (KRIs) and emerging risk trends. \n
- Prepare risk reports, assessment summaries, and management updates. \n
- Escalate identified risks, control deficiencies, and outstanding issues to appropriate stakeholders. \n
- Support ongoing improvements to risk management and internal control processes. \n
Client Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration
\n- \n
- Work closely with business teams, risk management, compliance, and internal audit stakeholders. \n
- Participate in client meetings, risk assessment discussions, and control evaluation activities. \n
- Prepare professional client-facing documentation, presentations, and project status updates. \n
- Gather and analyze information, conduct process reviews, and document findings. \n
- Communicate risk observations and recommendations clearly to internal teams and client stakeholders. \n
- Adapt to evolving project priorities and support additional risk management initiatives as needed. \n
Required Qualifications
\n- \n
- 1-5 Years of experience in risk management, operational risk, internal controls, regulatory compliance, or related functions within a banking or financial services consulting environment. \n
- Foundational understanding of risk identification, assessment methodologies, control evaluation, and remediation processes. \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing professional documentation and presentations. \n
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. \n
- Ability to quickly learn new risk frameworks, processes, and client requirements. \n
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting environment with changing priorities. \n
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and execute assignments with limited direction. \n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. \n
Preferred Qualifications
\n- \n
- Direct experience supporting Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA). \n
- Experience working within or consulting for a Global Systemically Important Bank (GSIB). \n
- Familiarity with operational risk frameworks, control testing, and risk assessment methodologies. \n
- Experience documenting control gaps, remediation activities, and risk findings. \n
- Exposure to first-line or second-line risk management functions. \n
- Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools or AI-enabled solutions to support analysis, reporting, documentation, or workflow efficiency. \n
- Previous experience supporting client-facing banking risk or regulatory consulting engagements. \n
Ideal Candidate Profile
\nThe ideal Risk Analyst Consultant is an analytical, adaptable, and motivated professional with a foundation in banking risk management and a desire to expand their expertise in RCSA, operational risk, and internal controls.
\nSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:
\n- \n
- Banking Risk Knowledge: Understanding of risk management and control processes within a banking environment. \n
- Strong Communication: Ability to communicate professionally with clients, business stakeholders, and project teams. \n
- Learning Agility: Ability to quickly understand new risk frameworks, processes, and regulatory expectations. \n
- Adaptability: Willingness to shift priorities and support evolving client and project needs. \n
- Independence: Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work effectively with limited supervision. \n
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify risks, evaluate control gaps, and contribute to practical remediation solutions. \n
- Consulting Mindset: A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to supporting client objectives and delivering high-quality work. \n
Why Consider This Opportunity?
