This individual will oversee a team of over 35 support engineers who look after algorithmic trading, high touch trading systems, and client and market connectivity. In addition to ensuring maximum uptime of the systems, this senior individual will drive initiatives to reduce support effort, automate platform resiliency, and introduce best in class observability in areas such as latency, potential performance bottlenecks, and failure detection. This senior leader will also influence strategic direction of the area and become a trusted partner of the business. Responsibilities:Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.Establishes strategic plans for function.Understands how the apps support function integrates within the overall organization to contribute to achieving business objectives.Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external partiesManagement responsibility for a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.Performs other duties and functions as assignedOwn and lead disaster recovery plans.Lead and deliver local staff forums, present global, regional and location news encouraging global collaboration.Contribute to define and Implement standard methodologies for the department.
