Counselor - Substance Use Disorder - Chicago River North

Job Description Develop patient treatment plans and conduct continued stay reviews based on research, clinical experience, and patients' histories using assessment programs on computer. Provide patient intakes (biopsychosocial assessment), treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning, and discharge with individual and group therapy for a full spectrum of referral sources. Provide direct clinical service to a full caseload, achieving a minimum of 20 billable hours weekly. Intervene as an advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting patients (written authorization by patient must be obtained – refer to Federal Confidentiality Regulations for substance abuse treatment). Maintain at least 50% of work time in face‑to‑face counseling contacts. Schedule Monday – Friday (6:00a – 2:30p) Start Date ASAP Work Location 310 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL Compensation $43,000 – $55,000 per year; based on certification and experience. Sign‑on bonus available for certified candidates. DCFS clearance required. Required Experience Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/ GED required ; Experience in substance use, detox programs, medication‑assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare, and/or community relations encouraged to apply . Certificates, Licenses, Registrations IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) required , or able to obtain within allotted time of hire date.
