About the Job You'll be conducting functional behavior assessments with children and adolescents whose behaviors may interfere with medical treatment, and developing strategies to support positive outcomes. Responsibilities include training hospital staff, families, and caregivers on effective behavioral interventions during patient admissions, as well as providing consultation to interdisciplinary teams on behavior analytic needs. The position also requires educating stakeholders on the application and value of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within the hospital setting. What you will do Conduct a range of behavioral assessments (i.e. functional behavior assessments, including functional analyses as needed, treatment assessments). Develop function-based behavior support plans in the hospital setting by implementing function-based strategies to address behavioral concerns. Implement non-standard functional analyses and demonstrate ability to adapt functional analysis protocol in a hospital environment. Recommend appropriate functionally equivalent replacement behaviors. Conduct staff training and workshops on principles and technologies of applied behavior analysis. Conduct behavior skills training for staff on implementation of behavior support plans. Complete frequent integrity assessments and provide feedback to ensure fidelity to behavior support plans. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and any other meetings required. Work interactively and sensitively with parents to provide training and support in the context of the hospital admission. Demonstrates competency and expertise in the principles and practice of applied behavior analysis. This includes the current BACB Task List and the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts. Documenting in Epic progress notes and reports in a clear, concise, efficient manner. Please refer to closing encounter policy with the department for requirements. Participate in hospital-wide committees to provide behavior analytic perspective related to patient care. Participate in QI projects related to behavioral health objectives. Promote behavior analytic work within the CHOP Enterprise as well as in greater medical and behavioral health communities. Provide supervision to trainees Licenses and Certifications - Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) - upon hire - Required Education - Master's Degree Psychology, Behavioral Analysis or Education Required Experience - At least two (2) years post-masters experience providing behavior analysis treatment including experimental functional analyses, data analysis, significant behavior challenges and intensive behavior intervention programming in line with current research standards. Required - At least two (2) years experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Required - Supervised experience in 1:1 education of learners with autism across educational and community settings, as well as familiarity with designing, participating in, or supervising in-home 1:1 programs for young children with autism, collecting, graphing, analyzing, displaying and discussing data based progress Preferred - in assessment and treatment of severe behavior disorders Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making. - Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public. - Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports. - Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. - Ability to communicate clearly. - Ability to accept feedback and incorporate into professional growth and own performance improvement. - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others - Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver. - Maintains strictest confidentiality. - Knowledge of and experience with QI tools/approaches - Building capabilities of staff To carry out its mission, it is of critical importance for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to keep our patients, families and workforce safe and healthy and to support the health of our global community. SALARY RANGE: $74,250.00 - $94,660.00 Annually Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs.
