Sr. R&D Engineer

Abbott seeks a Senior R&D Engineer for its Structural Heart division in Menlo Park, California. The role involves mechanical engineering support for medical device development, from concept through commercialization, within a quality system environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop new device concepts from initial design through market release
- Create processes to transform concepts into commercial medical devices
- Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality
- Write and submit intellectual property and patent documentation
- Review and coordinate vendor activities supporting device development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or equivalent education and work experience
- Minimum 6 years of medical device development experience
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Master's degree preferred
- Broad knowledge of technical principles, practices, and procedures
Compensation: $90,000.00 – $180,000.00 base
