Lease Accountant

Job DescriptionPURPOSE OF THE JOBThe purpose of this jobs is to assist in maintaining lease schedules, reconciling operating expenses with landlords, and additional month-end closing processes. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIESPrepare and maintain accounting schedules according to lease/amendment termsReview and reconcile rent & operating expense billing from property managers, including identifying & resolving billing disputesAssist with the monthly close process and with the preparation and analysis of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial informationPrepare journal entries and accruals, both recurring and non-recurringMonthly reconciliation of general ledger accountsPreparation of supporting documentation for financial statementsWork closely and partner with our Real Estate and Construction teamPreparation of monthly/quarterly reports for managementResearch and provide conclusions on technical accounting issuesAdditional duties as assigned.Job RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Business, Accounting, or related field 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience) Intermediate proficiency level within MS Excel (V-lookups, formulas, filtering, sorting, formatting) Intermediate proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Basic understanding of financial management applications such as PeopleSoft Why Guitar Center?
