Assistant Chief Flight Instructor Eastern Kentucky University Title: Assistant Chief Flight Instructor Position Type: Fulltime Staff Search Type: External - minimum 7 days Department: 25R000 - Justice, Safety & Military Science Division: 2R0000 - Academic Affairs Position Location: Richmond Campus Driver Classification: University Driver FLSA: Exempt Schedule Type: Full Time (37.5 hrs per week ormore) Hours Per Week: Additional Schedule Details: Posted Salary Grade: Exempt - G23 Retirement: KTRS Contact Person: Tim Holt Job Summary/Basic Functions The Assistant Chief Flight Instructor assists in overseeingPrivate, Instrument, Commercial, Multi Engine, CFI/CFII/MEIcertificates and ratings in the collegiate Part 141 program. TheAssistant Chief Flight Instructor assists in the administration andoversight of flight operation and flight course portions of theaviation program. The incumbent must possess and maintain a strongworking knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations(FARs) for Part 141 and will assist with all FAA related paperworkand documentation. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree is required. Experience: Two years of directly related experience. Licensure & Certifications - Certified Flight Instructor CFI, CFII and MEI - Requirements of FAR Part 141 for Assistant Chief Flight Instructor - Possesses and can maintain a 2nd class medical certificate Preferred Qualifications Job Duties 40% - Assists as directed with all EKU Aviation flight training activities. - () 30% - Monitors compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) in the training of students and the supervision of flight instructors. - () 10% - Provides leadership and guidance for flight instructors. - () 10% - Collects feedback to be used to review and update the flight training program and training materials. - () 5% - Assists as directed with scheduling and dispatch activities related to flight students, instructors, and aircraft for flight training. - () 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - () Sponsorship This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
