Unit Information

Unit: Labor & Delivery

Location: Lone Tree, CO

General Information

This unit has the following features:

• Number of Beds: 19 patient rooms, 6 PACU rooms, 6 triage rooms, 3 L&D ORs
• Staffing: Matrix of 8-10 for night shift
• Night Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse, 7-9 RNs, 1 CST
• Patient Ratios: 2:1, with 1:1 for complicated patients (estimated)
• Type of Equipment: FHR monitors (Novii and GE), fetal scalp electrodes
• EMR Systems: CPN and Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of current hospital Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN or EFM certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Mom/Baby, Pediatrics, or NICU

Typical Procedures Performed

• Vaginal deliveries
• C-section deliveries
• Delivery of care through nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Directing and coordinating all nursing care for labor and delivery patients, postpartum patients, and high-risk antepartum patients
